The Michigan Democratic State Central Committee is trying to capitalize on Gov. Rick Snyder's Congressional testimony on the Flint water crisis on Thursday to rally Democrats to donate money to defeat Republican candidates this November.

For those who didn't get a chance to watch the televised hearings, members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee beat up on Snyder, and some called for his resignation.

"I've had about enough of your false contrition and your phony apologies," Rep. Matt Cartwright, D-Pa., told Snyder during the Congressional hearing. He demanded Snyder resign.

Snyder afterwards indicated he has no intention of quitting and wants to fix the problem.

In an email to Democrats issued Saturday,  Brandon Dillon, chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, writes:

This week, Rick Snyder went before Congress and made it abundantly clear that his answer to the Flint water crisis will continue to be finger pointing, shifting blame, and refusing to take accountability for what he and his administration caused.

Instead of accepting responsibility for his failure of leadership, under oath, he evaded the truth with answers like, “I don’t remember,” I don’t recall,” and “Not to my knowledge.” These were simple “yes or no” questions. Either Rick Snyder is a stone-cold liar or he is the worst governor in the history of Michigan. Whichever the case, the citizens of Flint and the people of Michigan deserve better.

It’s time for Snyder to go and we’re asking for your help to send him packing.

We need to step up our efforts to hold Governor Snyder accountable and we need to fight between now and Election Day to replace his Republican friends in the legislature with Democrats who will push for transparency and accountability and look out for the citizens they represent.

Contribute $10, or whatever you can afford, to help us hold Snyder accountable and to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November.
