Scott Fountain on Belle Isle
Gov. Rick Snyder has signed legislation to spend $28 million on outdoor recreation projects across Michigan, which includes $300,000 to relocate and improve a major picnic area on Belle Isle, the Associated Press reports.
The Associated Press reports that the picnic area will be moved to the south side of Woodside drive, a scenic location along the shore of Lake Okonoka.
The area will see new picnic shelters, sidewalks, parking lot improvements and playground equipment, AP reports.
