Frank Porter
Michigan State Police are probing the death of 34-year-old Frank Porter, who was arrested Friday night and died while in custody of Ecorse Police, Fox 2 reports.
Porter was found passed out in his car at a Marathon gas station around 10 p.m., reports Camille Amiri of Fox 2. Police were called and jailed him after discovering there was a warrant for his arrest.
Porter's mother tried calling the jail several times Saturday, but police refused to let her talk to him. That night she was notified that he died in custody.
His family says Porter had been in rehab for heroin use and may have had a relapse. They wonder why he didn't get medical care.
