Michigan State Police have raided the clerk's office at Dearborn City Hall in connection with an embezzlement investigation, WWJ reports.

Troopers were at the office of City Clerk Kathleen Buda late Wednesday morning, according to the station.

Dearborn officials say they're cooperating.

“The State Police are in charge of this investigation and we don’t have details at this point, but we are cooperating fully with them. If there is a problem, we want it to be addressed thoroughly. And if there isn’t an issue, we want to make sure that that news is understood as well,” Deputy City Attorney Laurie Ellerbrake is quoted as saying.

Lt. Mike Shaw of the State Police tells WWJ the search involves alleged embezzlement, but didn’t add details.
