When it comes to the state's new right-to-work law, residents are about evenly split as to whether it will benefit the economy.
A Michigan State University survey shows that 42.7 percent think it will help the state an 41 percent feel it will hurt.
Broken down by gender, 49.6 percent of the men and 36.1 percent of the women thought it would help.
And broken down by race, 45.4 percent of whites and 24.9 percent of blacks thought it would be beneficial.
The survey of 1,013 Michigan adults has an error margin mof about 3 percentage points.
