Jada Rankin

Here's just another case of an outrageous crime.

A 15-year-old honor student from Sterling Heights was fatally shot early Sunday morning on Detroit's west side after a disagreement that began when her uncle told a speeding driver to slow down, Fox 2 reports.

Josh Landon of Fox 2 reports that an unknown driver opened fire after the confrontation and shot Jada Rankin at approximately 2 a.m. in the 14000 block Ardmore. She was visiting her grandmother along with family and friends.

"They were outside, everyone was getting ready to go home," the victim's grandmother, Minnie Hill, tells Fox 2.

"My grandson was getting ready to get in his car, and the guy sped past him. He said 'man, be careful, stop speeding,' and he (in speeding car) just opened the car door and started shooting. He shot seven times."
