Scrubby, hangin' in the passenger side.

The old adage, "I don't want no scrubs" doesn't hold true here. A Detroit dog named Scrubby has proven to be highly sought after, by some seemingly scrubby characters no less.

Fox 2 reports the Maltese Shitzu was recently stolen for a second time after he was taken during a car theft on the west side in early 2017. At the time, the TV station ran a segment, and Scrubby was seen wandering the streets and reunited with his owner. Now, he's been taken again after being left outside and off his leash — also on the west side. This time, however, there's an additional wrinkle: Scrubby has since been sold on Craigslist.

His owner, Debra Forris, spoke to Fox 2 through tears:

She says they called police, searched social media and posted fliers, then she got a text from a stranger telling her to check CraigsList.

"She sent me the picture. I looked at it and said this is my dog," she said. "It was Scrubby."

Debra immediately went on CraigsList and reached out to the person who posted the ad selling Scrubby.

"I said please don't hang up - I'm the owner of the dog," Debra said. "I said his name is Scrubby, he said ma'am I'm just going to stop you. The dog's been sold."

Debra is now offering a reward for Scrubby's return. The 12-year-old Shitzu is reportedly in poor health.
