The storm that hit Metro Detroit on Wednesday left four to eight inches of snow.  

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, area freeways were wet and sloppy but largely clear after county road crews spent the night and early morning plowing and salting roadways for the morning rush hour, the Detroit News reported.

By 10 p.m. Wednesday, Michigan State Police had more than 100 reports of fender-benders and other traffic incidents across Metro Detroit, dispatchers said.

While Detroit Metropolitan Airport registered nearly six inches of snow as of midnight, it handled it with no problems.

But the impact of the storm on other airports — especially in the eastern portion of the U.S. — showed numerous cancellations across the board at Metro.
