In an unusual finding, the Oakland County Medical Examiner's office has ruled that the cause of death of a 22-year-old Port Huron woman mauled by dogs last Thursday is suicide, the Times Herald newspaper reports.
Ray Jankowski, an investigator for the medical examiner's office, said Rebecca Hardy's death was caused by multiple injuries and the manner of her death was suicide, Beth LeBlanc of the Times Herald reports.
Investigators said Hardy climbed over a fence into a backyard at 1721 10th St., where she was attacked by two dogs, a pit bull and a pit bull-husky mix, the paper reported.
Why she entered the yard is unknown, the paper reports.
