A Ferndale man suspected of driving under the influence crashed into a bus shelter in Detroit on New Year's Day, killing one person and injuring another, Fox 2 reports.
Erika Erickson of Fox 2 reports that the 23-year-old man in a red Mercury Cougar was driving around 9:45 a.m. and crossed several lanes. He struck the bus shelter at Woodward near West Euclid Avenue.
The crash resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man. A 22-year-old man was listed in temporary serious condition with neck and back injuries, Fox 2 reported. The driver was listed Thursday in in temporary serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with operating while intoxicated, Fox 2 reports.
