Detroit new top cop, on the job three months, is about to drop Part 2 of his leadership makeover.

Chief James Craig is promoting two inspectors and a lieutenant to deputy chiefs.
Police beat veteran George Hunter of The Detroit News has a preview from an insider:
The second phase of Police Chief James Craig’s massive restructuring of the Detroit Police Department is expected to be announced Friday with the appointment of three deputy chiefs, along with several other departmental changes. . .
One high-ranking police official called Craig’s moves the biggest shakeup in the history of the Detroit Police Department. Since taking over the department in July, Craig has made the most sweeping changes to the department in decades, including a complete overhaul of the organizational structure.
Hunter notes that Craig earlier described the force as top-heave.
The three deputy chiefs represent a significant reduction from as many as eight people in that position.
