Target, which at one point seemed like one of those invincible department chains that had no where to go but up, is closing three stores in Michigan.
The chain issued a press release this week saying that it was closing its Northland store in Southfield and stores in Monroe and Bay City.
The closures in Michigan are among 11 across the nation that are shutting down as of Feb. 1.
"The decision to close a Target store is only made after careful consideration of the long-term financial performance of a particular location," Target said in its press release. "All eligible store team members are being offered the option to transfer to other Target stores. Team members who choose not to transfer will be offered a separation package.
