Teen's Body Recovered from West Bloomfield Lake

The body of a 17-year-old male who jumped into Middle Straits Lake in West Bloomfield early Thursday morning has been recovered, WDIV reports.

West Bloomfield Police Chief Michael Patton tells Lauren Podell of WDIV that seven teens, ages 16-17, were on a boat when the youth  jumped into the water. The victim had been drinking. 

After the teen failed to resurface, friends called 911, the station reports. Rescue teams began a search around 1:30 a.m. and recovered the body at 8:45 a.m.
