Dreia Davis was 13 in 2009 when she was hit by bullet in a drive-by shooting on Detroit's east side, the Detroit Free Press reports.
She suffered two heart attacks and a stroke, and underwent numerous surgeries. Her chances of living weren't so great.
Suddenly, the fortunes of the wheel-chair bound teen have turned for the better.
Katrease Stafford of the Free Press writes that Davis and her devoted dad, Curtis White, received a lift van and a debt-free, furnished home that accommodates her disabilities Wednesday from Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.
"It's so beautiful," Davis said, according to the report in the Detroit Free Press. "I'm so thankful. I feel fabulous."
"I'm speechless," White said, as he cried, the Freep reported. "Oh, this is perfect. I love it. I am so overwhelmed. This is a blessing. I'm ready to move in. This is the best feeling in the world."
