U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land's latest TV ad attacks Washington for it's pettiness and ineffectiveness.

And the Democrats are attacking for it,  claiming she's hypocritical criticizing Washington while she's embracing it and holding fundraisers there this week.

The new ad shows two child actors -- representing Congress -- who are acting out, fighting, horsing around and slacking off.

“As a mom, I know how to break up a fight,” Land says in the ad. “That’s a lesson I’ll teach to Washington, D.C., and Congress. They fight too much … spend too much … work too little — and we’re getting stuck with the bill with nothing to show for it. As Michigan’s secretary of state, I brought people together, cut waste, and saved taxpayers millions of dollars.”

A press release from the Michigan Democratic Party states:

Land is launching her new ad mocking Washington, while she's in D.C. cashing in with special interests and courting the Washington Insiders she supposedly criticizes. No wonder her words ring hollow.

"It's clear Michiganders can't trust Terri Lynn Land, because the day she's launching her newest ad gimmick, she's in Washington D.C. cashing in with the very special interests and Washington Insiders she pretends to be critical of," Kevin McAlister, MDP Senior Communications Advisor, said in a statement. "Land thinks she can buy this election with help from the Koch Brothers, so she doesn't have to speak with Michigan's middle class families."

The Land camp finds the criticism unfair.

“When Terri Lynn Land travels to our nation’s capital, she tells Congress that they spend too much and fight too much, and that Michigan gets stuck with the bill,” Land spokeswoman Heather Swift said, according to a report in the Detroit News.
