Will Tesla Motors get a dealership in Michigan?

It wants one even though Gov. Rick Snyder signed legislation in 2014 that bans Tesla's business model -- a dealer selling cars directly to customers.  Michigan requires that car companies sell cars through a franchised dealership, not directly to customers as Tesla does. 

Tesla has applied for licenses to sell and service its luxury electric vehicles in Michigan, writes Mike Wayland of the Detroit News

The automaker submitted applications in November to the Michigan Secretary of State and has provided added information.

The department is reviewing the application, a spokesman says, and is likely to make a decision in the next month or two.
