Temperatures are expected to dip today into the mid-80s, a cool down from the scorcher that hit Metro last week and power is expected to be restored to most customers after two thunderstorms left tens of thousands in the dark.
DTE Energy Co. reported about 30,000 customers were still without power at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, down from a one-time high of 210,000 after Wednesday's and Thursday's thunderstorms.
"Assuming there are no additional storms in the area, DTE Energy expects to have the vast majority of the remaining customers back by late Saturday, although we know we'll be working into Monday to restore small pockets of customers and individual service problems," according to a statement on the utility's website
