Bathroom breaks have a whole new meaning at three Macomb County businesses where someone committed wrenching crimes, literally.
Detectives want to flush out the person behind a series of thefts, Kimberly Craig of WXYZ reports:
Roseville Police are trying to find out who is stealing plumbing fixtures from toilets in public restrooms.
The thefts have occurred in the afternoon hours of Dec. 27, 28 and 29. So far, the thief has hit a McDonalds, a Tim Hortons and a Mobil Gas station.
Police say a man is going into the men's restrooms and using tools to quickly remove the exposed piping and valves that lead to the toilets and urinal.
The result is what you'd expect, a Mobil station manager on Gratiot tells Taryn Asher of Fox 2 News:
"There was water flowing, and we had to close the bathroom in order to get somebody here and get it fixed," said Ray Bazzi.
This clue is in the pipeline, WXYZ says:
Witnesses describe a possible suspect as standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a light brown Carhartt-type jacket with a blue shirt. . . . He was seen getting into the passenger side of a red, four-door foreign-make vehicle being driven by another subject.
Update: "The cops had nothing to go on," Terry Gallagher of Ann Arbor notes on our Facebook page.
