Christopher Roddy's moment in the national spotlight first came during the  2011 during the Super Bowl.

You might recall he was the doorman at the Guardian Building in downtown Detroit who was featured in the Chrysler 200 commercial with Eminem that had the tagline "Imported From Detroit.".

He became an instant celebrity. People came up and took photos with him. Publications interviewed him.

Now, Austin reports, Roddy is back in the game, this time as a doorman Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., welcoming hotel guests and residents to the recently reopened David Whitney Building overlooking Grand Circus Park, less than a mile from the Guardian Building. He's been there about a month.

"I'm back in business," Roddy, 58, tells the Freep.
