Kevorkian Clip Image001

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the suicide advocate, has won.

Yes, he's dead.

But his wish to have his paintings returned to his estate for his niece has been fulfilled after a protracted legal battle, reports Mike Martindale of the Detroit News.

The News reports that under an agreement approved last month by U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf of Boston, the American Library and Museum in Watertown, Mass., will keep four paintings and return 13 to the his estate for the benefit of his heir, a niece in Troy.

Martindale writes:

The paintings — many containing disturbing and grotesque images and some reportedly containing Kevorkian's own blood — have been valued at more than $2 million.

Kevorkian died in June 2011. He was 83 and had served eight years in prison for second-degree murder of a patient.
