Why not expand a good thing?
Candice Williams of the Detroit News reports that the Thanksgiving day parade in downtown Detroit is expanding north a mile to Midtown.
The parade this year on Nov. 28 will start at Woodward and Kirby and end at Congress. The Parade Co. also announced that Art Van Furniture will now be the presenting sponsor.
The parade first began in 1924 and was sponsored by the J.L. Hudson Company department store. It's as old as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. The Thanksgiving parade in Philadelphia is four years younger.
