Updated: Thursday, 11:50 a.m. -- It's official. Democratic gubornatorial candidate Mark Schauer announced Thursday that he has picked Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown to run as his lieutenant governor, the Detroit News reported.

Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown is expected to be the running mate for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer, Michigan Public Radio's Rick Pluta reports.
You might recall that Brown, a former state representative, caused a stir heard round the country when she uttered the word "vagina" while speaking on the House floor in Lansing about a restrictive abortion bill.
“Finally Mr. Speaker, I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but ‘no’ means ‘no," she said at the time.
Republicans reacted by barring her from speaking on the House floor as punishment for saying "vagina."
Pluta reports that an announcement is expected on Thursday in Oakland County. -- Allan Lengel
