Talk about a strained relationship -- here's how badly things are going between a Macomb County judge and his ex-wife:
Her call to police a few days ago got his girlfriend arrested and led officers to file a child abuse and neglect complaint against her husband, Circuit Court Judge Richard Caretti, Amy Lange of Fox 2 reports.
The girlfriend was pulled over in Franklin as she pulled up to a home with [Caretti] and his daughters in the car. . . .
Brenda Conway, 50, was driving them home to their mother in Franklin from a wedding reception at 22 Mile Road out in Macomb Saturday night.
One of the daughters texted Lori Conway, her mother, during the ride to say "daddy had Brenda driving and she is very drunk," the parent tells Lange. Local officers, notified by the mother, were waiting for the adults and daughters, 12 and 15.
"Preliminary breath test result was 0.18 percent," said Lieutenant William Castro with Franklin Police. That's more than twice the legal limit. . . .
Caretti was not charged, but police filed a child abuse and neglect report with the state. The incident is now under investigation.
The judge had to call for a ride that night after the cops determined he also had raised too many wedding reception toasts.
