Metro Detroit is hanging in at American Idol.
Brian McCollom of The Detroit Free Press reports that three Metro Detroiters are still in the mix and will learn their fate tonight during a one-hour show.
The three include: Southfield’s Malaya Watson, 16, Farmington Hills’ Jena Irene Asciutto, 17, and Sam Woolf, 17, who grew up in West Bloomfield.
The other Michiganian in the competition, Maurice Townsend, 26, of Grand Rapids, was eliminated Wednesday night. -- A.L.
