Hatred never goes out of style.

Tony Briscoe of the Detroit News reports that a woman who was among the 300-plus same-sex couples married in Michigan last month was violently assaulted in Ypsilanti Township while walking home Monday after being recognized from media coverage. She had been featured on the news during her wedding in Washtenaw County.

The News reports that the 28-year-old woman got off the bus around 6 p.m. and was approached by three men.

The News, citing police, reported that one man said: “Hey (expletive), are you that (gay slur) from the news?”

One man punched and knocked her unconscious, the News reported. When she was conscious again, she was kicked in the torso. The men then fled. -- Allan Lengel
