The Detroit Tigers game in Minnesota was postponed on Wednesday night in Minneapolis due to rain, but the Baltimore Orioles lost to the Red Sox 5-1, leaving the Tigers one game out of a wild card spot.
The Tigers now play a doubleheader on Thursday in the Twins Cities. The first game is at 2:10 p.m. and the next one at 8:10 p.m.
Meanwhile, second baseman Ian Kinsler wasn't in the lineup Tuesday and Wednesday night because of a concussion-like symptoms, the result of getting hit by a pitch in the head on Sunday against Cleveland. He is listed day-to-day, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Designated hitter Victor Martinez was also not in the lineup for the Twins series. He was hit square on the right knee in the same game, reports the Freep.
“Just swollen,” Manager Brad Ausmus said Tuesday, according to the Freep. “It’s purple and swollen and it’s just going to be hard for him to move around for the next couple of days.”
