The Tigers bullpen is pretty lame. The fielding could certainly improve. And the Tigers really want to go all the way this year.

That combination makes it likely the Tigers will be looking for trades to  improve the team as it enters the second half of the season.

The Tigers have chips to deal by the July 31 trading deadline, Lynn Henning of The Detroit News writes.

The question is, Who?

He writes:

What is clear is the Tigers have trade chips. They have strong starting pitchers at their Single A stops, West Michigan and Lakeland, and at least one of those arms is a good bet to be shopped next month.

They also have a sudden glut of young middle infielders. And with Jose Iglesias expected back in 2015, as doctors predict, it is likely an infielder will be available as Detroit builds for a second-half playoff push and beyond.

He writes that the Tigers could be willing to trade an outfielder considering that Andy Dirks, who underwent back surgery, could be back in the lineup in a few weeks.
