The Tigers aren't hitting. They have scored five runs in four games. 

It is bewildering, Lynn Henning writes. And it is grave. The Tigers will act, probably rapidly, to change players and shake up a batting order that is sabotaging what was to have been a glorious season of baseball in Detroit.

But how?

"That's easier said than done," Leyland said Saturday, after another Tiger loss.

Leyland reminded his visitors that this was the same team fans, as well as analysts, believed would bash its way to the playoffs in 2012. The Tigers front office had the same thought.

Now the team's general, Dave Dombrowski, is left trying to replace players and upgrade a lineup that appeared bulletproof. But this is baseball. There are 29 other clubs scrambling to get better, especially now that an extra playoff team makes the post-season.
