Broke.
One man's definition of broke is the other man's definition of wealth.
Well, in this case there may be a little less room for interpretation.
Tresa Baldas of the Detroit Free Press, citing anonymous sources, reports that the feds have discovered that contractor Bobby Ferguson, who was convicted along with buddy Kwame Kilpatrick of public corruption charges, had more than $400,000 in bank accounts.
The discovery by the feds came after Ferguson was convicted and insisted he was broke, Baldas reports. Ferguson had been arguing that the feds had seized all his assets already.
Ooops.
The feds, in asking the judge to look him up pending sentencing, had argued that Ferguson had access to big money and might use that cash to flee before sentencing. U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds decided their presented a flight risk and locked them up pending sentencing.
