Ex-Rep. Todd Courser
Shamed, ex-state Rep. Todd Courser isn't shying away from the limelight days after he resigned under pressure from the state House because of his affair with expelled Rep. Cindy Gamrat.
In an interview with Fox 2's Amy Lange, he says that he and his wife are in counseling, and he talks about the pain of telling his family about the affair.
"It was really, really difficult to tell my wife and my family. Nothing more excruciating than having to explain to your children."
He said he concocted the crazy story about the male prostitute to try and flush out the person who tried blackmailing him into resigning from office.
He said he believes there was only scant evidence that he and Gamrat used taxpayer funds. He said they both should have been censured, not expelled. Gamrat was expelled. He decided to resign at the last minute on Friday morning just before he was about to be expelled.
Still, he admits responsibility for it all.
"My actions were my own, they were my own. It caused havoc for so many people but my failures are mine. They're my responsibility and I have to live with that," Courser said.
