The stars of the "Dave and Chuck the Freak" show on 101.1 FM WRIF, are staying put in the Ferndale studio, but their show is expanding to the east coast.

The show, Detroit's top rated in the morning, will be simulcast on Boston alternative station WBOS 92.9 FM, Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business reports.

"We agreed to do this because we could stay here. We will be 'Imported from Detroit,'" host Dave Hunter says in a message to Crain's on Friday morning.

Hunter hosts the show primarily with Charles Urquhart and Lisa Way and a supporting cast. .

WRIF and WBOS are owned by Beasley Broadcast Group Inc. of Naples, Fla. Last year it bought WRIF when it purchased Boston-based Greater Media Inc.'s 21 stations for $240 million.
