Townsend Is the Best Hotel in Michigan, Says Travel + Leisure

The competition may not be a stiff as in states like New York and California. But the honor is, nonetheless, worthy.

Travel + Leisure magazine names the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham -- which often puts up rock stars and professional athletes --  as the state's best:

“A five-star hotel on the outskirts of Detroit that offers the best service, accommodations, restaurant, and surroundings in Michigan.” More concisely, another T+L reader called it “the best place to stay in Michigan, period!”

The hotel posts on Facebook regarding the recognition:

Only one Birmingham, Michigan. Only one fabulous hotel. Only The Townsend.
