For the second time in less than a week, Metro Detroit is dealing with a high profile child porn case.
Late last week, authorities announced the federal indictment of Matthew Kuppe, 21, of West Bloomfield, a Jewish Community Center camp counselor who was charged with taking photos of young campers in the locker room and posting them on a Russian website.
Now comes this: The Troy Athens High School assistant band director is facing federal charges and is accused of participating in an online child pornography community, WXYZ reports.
Eric Junod, a father of two, is accused of sending and receiving child pornography by actively visiting a child pornography bulletin board on a website.
Federal agents executed a search warrant on his home Monday and seized laptop, iPhone and iPad, Simon Shaykhet of the TV station reports. Agents found more than 600 images of child pornography on the devices.
Junod admitted to downloading and trading child pornography and reportedly told investigators that he prefers girls age 10 to 13. He also admitted having sexually explicit conversations with underage children. According to the criminal complaint, Junod discussed traveling to meet underage girls and admitted to sending and receiving inappropriate photos to minors.
Junod also admitted that he inappropriately touched a 12-month-old girl.
