Presidential hopeful Donald Trump on Tuesday -- on a big primary day in Wisconsin -- issued a statement bashing the Ford Motor Co. after it announced plans to invest $1.6 billion to build more small cars in Mexico, starting in 2018, Reuters news service reports.
Trump called it "an absolute disgrace."
"These ridiculous, job crushing transactions will not happen when I am president," Trump said in a statement released by his headquarters, according to Reuters.
Reuters reported that Ford was standing by comments made two weeks ago by its top executive Mark Fields,
"We are a global, multinational company and we will invest to keep us competitive and we will do what makes sense for the business," Fields said.
