Saturday morning turned into a nightmare for a worker at Ford Hospital in Detroit when she was attacked by two pit bulls in the employee parking lot, WWJ reported. She is in fair condition.

WWJ’s Beth Fisher talked to witnesses, who said either security guards or police officers shot and killed the dogs to get them to let go of the woman. A police sergeant confirmed that police shot the dogs.

One witness told WWJ: “I heard a lady screaming real loud and then after that I heard a gunshot, a bunch of gunshots, more than five gunshots, and then a few minutes later I heard about five or six more gunshots."
