High winds were being blamed for an accident on Wednesday afternoon involving a charter plane carrying the University of Michigan men's basketball team at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, MLive report. There were no serious injuries, but some people were banged up.  

The jet was bound for Washington, D.C.  where Michigan is scheduled to begin playing on Thursday in the Big Ten Tournament, reports Brendan F. Quinn. 

The aircraft was also carrying band members, cheerleaders and members coaching staff families. Alternative transportation was being arranged.
