A holiday week shooting that hospitalized a prominent photographer, Monica Morgan. has brought a criminal charge against her husband, Serena Maria Daniels reports in The Detroit News.
An arrest warrant has been issued for UAW Vice President General Holiefield after his wife was shot at their home in Harrison Township last month. . . .
The warrant was signed Thursday, according to Lt. John Michalke, spokesman for the [Macomb] sheriff’s department. Holiefield, who was not in police custody Friday, faces a charge of reckless use of a firearm. The crime is a misdemeanor and carries up to 90 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Monica Morgan and General Holiefield married in 2012.
The gunfire occurred Dec. 30 in the couple's Harrison Township kitchen.
"Deputies learned that the 60-year-old homeowner was cleaning his 45 Desert Eagle semi-automatic handgun at the kitchen table when it accidentally discharged," said the sheriff's office in a release. "A single round was fired, which struck his wife in the abdomen."
Morgan 50, is recovering after surgery at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens. It's not known whether she has been discharged. "She's gonna be fine" a friend posted on Facebook Jan. 5 after speaking with Morgan by phone.
The freelance photojournalist covered Nelson Mandela's funeral in South Africa two weeks before being shot.
