Uber Driver Accused of Raping Passenger in Detroit

Uber, which has become wildly popular around the country, including in Detroit where there's a dearth of cabs and public transportation, has had its share of problems.

The latest: A 29-year-old Uber driver accused of raping a 21-year-old woman Thursday night turned himself in to Detroit Police, Robin Murdoch of Fox 2 reports.

Authorities say Forid Ahmed, who was driving a gray 2013 Toyota Camry, picked up a 21-year- old woman up in the area of 5000 Cass. around 5:45 p.m. and drove her to an unknown location where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Ahmed turned himself in after seeing his photo on TV.
