Lighthearted teases yield to warm-hearted salutes for the visiting Brits who've seen Detroit at its finest and graciously say so.

On Twitter and Instagram, dozens of Virgin Atlantic junketeers who landed Thursday with Richard Branson hold up a looking glass that reflects historic architecture, appealing recreation, imaginative cuisine and hard-hustling startups.

"It’s the hard work of the local entrepreneurs that will help keep the city on the road to recovery," Branson says Friday at his blog.

Plus, who isn't charmed by tweets that say "blimey" and refer to Better Made chips as "crisps," honestly?

A Detroit jewelry designer may speak for many when she tweets Friday:

"My knee jerk reaction is 2 hate on @richardbranson, but damn it all his #Detroit visit is winning me over."

So as Team Branson wraps up a three-day "Hello Detroit" stay, their words and images below show why Detroit is "the city that continues to call the world's bluff," as Sir Richard posted Thursday.
