If you happen to look up in the sky and see a plane, it just may be that there's a millionaire on board, leaving the great state of Michigan.

That's right. Don't panic.

But apparently it's true.

The Detroit News reports that while the state population is slowly rebounding, the number of millionaires is slipping.

The News reports that the state had 10,000 fewer millionaire households in 2013 than 2012. Michigan had about 170,000 millionaires in 2013.  The paper cites a report by the Phoenix Global Wealth Monitor.

Birmingham financial adviser William Messner tells The News that he's noticed clients fleeing Michigan, and that they're often headed to Florida, which doesn't tax incomes or pensions.
