Update, 5:45 p.m. Friday: Deandre Simmons, a 42-year-old suburbanite, is accused of being drunk when he his three people crossing West Canfield Avenue on Thursday afternoon, Derick Hutchinson reports for WDIV.
The pickup driver from Inkster, who allegedly doesn't have a valid license, will be arraigned Saturday on six counts, the station says:
Simmons is charged with driving with a suspended license causing death, reckless driving causing death, operating under the influence causing death, driving with a suspended license causing serious injury, reckless driving causing serious impairment and operating while intoxicated.
A 73-year-old man from South Lyon died. A 65-year-old Milford man went home Friday after treatment and a 65-year-old Milford woman is still hospitalized.

A man driving a Chevy pickup hit four pedestrians Thursday afternoon outside the Shinola Detroit store on Canfield in Midtown, sending three to the hospital, The Detroit News reports.
One victim, a 73-year-old man pinned under a camper at an event,, suffered a serious head injury and died overnight, WDIV says Friday morning.
The 42-year-old driver of a westbound blue Chevy pickup was speeding around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when he swerved and hit the two men and two women on Canfield, as well as two vehicles, says Police Cmdr. Elvin Barren, according to Mark Hicks of the Detroit News.
The truck continued a short distance before a passenger inside apparently grabbed the steering wheel and stopped the driver, Barren said. “It does appear he was trying to escape.”
Detroit police said the man reeked of alcohol, WDIV reports. He was taken into custody and then to the hospital to be examined and tested for drugs and alcohol. Terrorism is not a factor, police say.
