Update, 8:24 a.m. Saturday: Kid Rock is officially out as grand marshal of Saturday's Nashville Christmas Parade after he appeared on "Fox & Friends" on Friday and described Joy Behar of "The View" as a "bitch," the Tennessean newspaper reports.
He's replaced by James Shaw Jr., the man who wrestled a gun away from a shooter at a Nashville Waffle House shooting in April that killed four people and injured four others.
Parade sponsors — Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Piedmont Natural Gas and Tennessee Holiday Productions — announced the decision to part ways with Rock for the 65th annual event. "Organizers feel that the grand marshal should personify the spirit of the Nashville community and have invited James Shaw, Jr., who became a community hero after stopping a shooting at a local Waffle House earlier this year, to be honored," a statement said.

His latest: During a live interview Friday morning on "Fox & Friends" with Steve Doocy in Nashville, he talks about bringing Americans together, but then calls "The View" co-host Joy Behar a "bitch."

Kid Rock: I did apologize for the language, not the sentiment.
Steve Doocy: We don't feel that way. We apologize for both.
