Friday, 9:25 a.m.: Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert and and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan made it official on Friday at a press conference, announcing that Microsoft will move its Southfield office to the One Campus Martius building in downtown Detroit. The former Compuware Building is headquarters for Quicken Loans.
Gilbert talked about all the companies that have moved downtown in recent years, including Fiat Chrysler, which now has an office in one of his buildings at Fort and Griswold.

Original article, Thursday afternoon:
Microsoft is moving its regional office from Southfield to downtown Detroit, Kirk Pinho reports at Crain's Detroit Business.
Dan Gilbert, Bedrock Detroit and Mayor Mike Duggan plan to announce Friday morning that the tech giant will open a 50,000-square-foot office in the One Campus Martius building (formerly the Compuware Building), which Bedrock owns and where Quicken Loans is based.
The Southeast Michigan base for Microsoft now is in the Southfield Town Center, where it leases about 53,000 square feet, Pinho writes. That building is north of 10 Mile Road between M-10 and Evergreen Road.
Gilbert hinted about the move early last month. Bedrock, which he owns, and Detroit-based Meridian Health bought the office tower in 2014 for $142 million.
