Detroit gets inundated with illegal trash piles weekly, according to authorities, who say one Dearborn businessman has been cited eight times.

"We average about 700 tons of illegal dumping every week, that’s what we pick up," Doug Collins, superintendent of public works, tells Fox 2.

Mahmoud Saad of Cost Friendly Tree Service of Dearborn has repeatedly dumped landscaping debris from his tree removal service, authorities say.

"Vehicles that have been registered to this person we have caught eight different times on our dumping cameras," said Detroit Police officer Jeremy Woods tells Fox 2. Before his arrest Friday, he had paid more than $14,000 in fines over a three-year stretch.

"Every time we talk to him he acts like he’s remorseful and then he does it again," said Woods. "I mean, eight times."
