Conversations in some circles about Detroit businesses and the city's comeback inevitably turn to the divide between downtown and the neighborhoods.

It's real, and it's an issue that has been repeatedly mentioned in this year's mayoral campaign, which has come down to Mayor Mike Duggan and state Sen. Coleman A. Young II.

As part of an occasional series, Deadline Detroit has been doing random interviews during this election season with people about town regarding changes in the city.

On Saturday, we spoke to Rose Onwenu, who owns Sterose International Boutique at 13313 W. McNichols Rd. in northwest Detroit. She had a booth at the Heidelberg Project block party on Detroit's east side.

She says she has been at the McNichols location for 11 years and lived in the neighborhood for 25.  A native of Nigeria, she'd like to see the comeback spill over into her business district.
