Video: Acrobatic Kite Boarders Put On A Show At Metro Beach

Metro Beach in Harrison Township has long been a favorite site for wind surfers.

In recent years, kite boarders have been showing up in increasingly numbers.

This video, by Sean Conway of Royal Oak, runs under a minute and a half. It shows kite boarding at its most energetic and daring on April 4, a blustery spring day on Lake St. Clair.

The video, titled "The HotB Team Dreaming of the Poo Trail," doesn't identify the agile kite boarders in wetsuits. They and Conway belong to the Metro Beach Kiteboarding Team, which plays on snow as well as lakes. Its Facebook group has 268 members.
