Pre-season hockey games aren't always the most exciting. They don't mean all that much.

Still, actor Cuba Gooding Jr. spiced things up during intermission in Chicago on Tuesday night where the Red Wings were playing.

He participated in a contestant that entailed shooting the puck from mid-ice into the net. There was a a board in front of the net with only two little slots.

On the third try, the enthusiastic Gooding got the puck into the net -- not easy, even for a pro.

Gooding got so excited, he tore off his shirt on the ice.

That was probably the highlight of the game. The Wings lost 2-1 in overtime.
