Discovery Channel documentary airing at Thursday night describes the Detroit River as a “focal point for illegal crossings by individuals with ties to terrorist organizations,” Claire Brownell reports in The Windsor Star. A two-minute trailer is below.

“Thousands of landing spots, narrow crossings and tremendous boat traffic make this newly explosive region nearly impossible to patrol,” reads a promotional blurb.

“My concern is, if the terrorists are going to come across anywhere, it’s going to be here,” says Jay Ferguson, an air interdiction agent with the Department of Homeland Security.

The cable channel's crew accompanies agents who take off from Selfridge Air National Guard Base for helicopter surveillance on both sides of the Ambassador Bridge. The program time is 8 p.m.
