Video: Drama Over Veep Pick at 1980 GOP Convention in Detroit

The drama at the Republican National Convention at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit involved the selection of the vice president candidate.

Gerald Ford was being considered as the No. 2 for Ronald Reagan's ticket. Then in dramatic fashion, CBS reporter Leslie Stahl tells Walter Cronkite that the choice would be George H.W. Bush. 

Interestingly, Reagan's campaign slogan was "Let's Make America Great Again."
