It was a bit a freak accident, though thankfully no one was seriously injured.

During the Red Wings battle against the Colorado Avalanche during a Saturday matinee at Joe Louis, an errant puck passed along by Francois Beauchemin of the Avalanche hit a fan in the face after flying through the air and making its way through a hole that's just wide enough to house the lens of a professional still camera, reports CBS Detroit.

The injured fan held on to his drink after being hit and didn't appear to be seriously hurt.
